Real Estate Experience

Earl L. Martin Jr. has more than thirty years of extensive experience and leadership in all facets of the real estate industry, including residential real estate sales brokerage (75 agents) and residential rentals (485 homes), income property leasing and management (18 million square feet - 6000 tenants); development of office, retail, industrial and golf course projects; REIT asset management (28 states) and CMBS mortgage servicing ($17 billion in pools).

A member of the advisory committee for the Alabama Real Estate Commission, he has taught pre-licensure, post-licensure and continuing education real estate courses as well as pre-broker and academic classes in economics and finance. He is an economic development consultant and has participated as an expert witness in real estate adjudication. He has earned designations as an Accredited Buyers Agent (ABR), Accredited Sellers Agent (ASR), Seniors Real Estate Specialist (SRES), Commercial Real Estate Professional (C-REP) and Certified Distance Education Instructor (CDEI).

Participation in the Real Estate Industry

Mr. Martin is currently licensed as a qualifying broker to practice real estate in Alabama and Ohio. He is a member of the National, Alabama and Montgomery Area Associations of REALTORS®, the Ohio and Lorain County Association of REALTORS® and the Real Estate Educators Association (REEA). He is a former president of the Georgia Chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC-GA). He is a member of the Economic Development Association of Alabama (EDAA) and the International Economic Development Council (IEDC).

Participation in the Community

An active participant in community programs where he has lived, Mr. Martin has been a supporter of the Montgomery Symphony and was a corporate campaign chairman for the Montgomery United Way. He is currently president of his neighborhood residents' association.

He previously served as a director of the Chamber of Commerce of Jackson, MS; as Founder and Chairman of trustees of Leadership Jackson, MS; as president of the Arts Alliance of Jackson Hinds County, MS; as a trustee of Tougaloo College in Jackson, MS and Miles College in Birmingham, AL; as chairman of trustees of the DeKalb County, GA library system; and as president of the Georgia Wildlife Federation.

Mr. Martin and his wife, the former Kay Foote, are natives of Memphis, TN, and have three children and six grandchildren.
